Vote No on SB 28

Once again the Ohio legislature is attacking access to abortion in Ohio. This time by forcing abortion providers to follow different rules for disposal of biological tissues than all other medical providers. These regulations do not improve the health and well being of women in our state. They are regulations aimed at shaming women who chose abortion and forcing abortion clinics to close.

Ohio Senate Bill 28 is designed to increase costs for women and trans men seeking abortion, which puts the procedure out-of-reach for low-income individuals. It forces them to pick unnecessary burial or cremation following an abortion, and requires doctors to file burdensome reports to state officials that aren’t required of any other health care provider. This bill is unconstitutional and has already been blocked by a federal judge in Indiana.

Contact your state representative today and tell them to vote NO on SB 28, and to get to work on bills that improve our health and well being, rather than continue to restrict access to health care services.

Please vote NO on SB 28 when it comes before you for consideration. This bill does nothing to improve the health and well being of our state.

As your constituent, I want you to focus on job creation, improving schools, securing access to affordable health care, and improving the state economy. Your priorities should not be passing unconstitutional restrictions on abortion that block access to healthcare and waste tax dollars to defend them in court.
