Congressional Report: April 30-May 4, 2018
Congress has been in recess this week, and Sen. Portman, Sen. Brown, and Rep. Turner have been in Ohio.
Representative Turner
Major Votes: None.
Other Activity
This week Rep. Turner has been in and around the Miami Valley. He deserves credit for his part in the bipartisan effort to combat sexual assault in the military and allow for expedited base transfers for any military victim of sexual assault – PERSISTagainstMSTact. He tweeted about working with Rep. Tsongas (D-MA) to encourage timely investigation of aircraft mishaps. And while he held press conferences at the Dayton International Airport and Wright-Patt, he still could not find time to allow his constituents to question him at a town hall.
Senator Portman
Major Votes: None
Other Activity
Sen. Portman spent the week traveling across the state touting his efforts on controlling sex trafficking as well as the supposed benefits of the tax “reform” legislation although Friday’s employment report included a less-than-exciting jobs number and no significant increase in wages.
Senator Brown
